In the winter, humpback whales breach the Pacific to rest and reproduce on this protected coast. During your adventure, you will witness underwater jumps and sounds that will make you feel part of their migratory song. Dolphins, sea lions and even Bryde's whales complete the ecosystem of this natural sanctuary.
With a marine biologist at your side, you will explore by boat the best sighting spots. At night, rest in luxury tents facing the sea and the mountains. Itinerary

Day 1
The adventure begins in La Paz, Mexico. Transportation will arrive for us at the agreed departure point, and we will transfer to Magdalena Bay. From there, we will go to the camp, where we will be waiting for you with a smile and a delicious meal. On this first day, we will settle into camp and then have a campfire where our biologist will tell us everything we need to know about the marine fauna we will be looking for during the expedition.

Day 2
We will wake up early and watch an unforgettable sunrise, enjoy a cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast and then we will head out on our first Ocean Safari. We will spend several hours at sea looking for marine fauna. In the afternoon we will eat ceviche in the dune area. Upon our return, we will enjoy the sunset, have dinner and have time to enjoy a good time around the campfire.

Day 3
Early in the morning, we will do our second Mexican Ocean Safari with the humpback whales so you won't be left wanting for anything. Afterwards we will visit an amazing community oyster farm where we will learn about farming and enjoy fresh seafood.
We return to the camp in the afternoon to watch the sunset. In the evening we will have a campfire under the starry sky.

Day 4
On the last day, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast to say goodbye to Magdalena Bay. We then packed our bags and headed to La Paz to start our journey home.

Humpback whale watching in Magdalena Bay is a marine spectacle that takes place during the winter in the waters of Baja California Sur. These majestic whales migrate each year from the cold northern waters to the warm bays of the peninsula. Humpback whale watching season in Magdalena Bay runs from December 14 to January 15.

In addition to humpback whales, in this experience you will be able to see gray whales, sea lions, dolphins, seabirds and, with luck, manta rays and other species of cetaceans. Magdalena Bay is one of the best places for marine wildlife watching in Baja California Sur.

Swimming with the whales is not allowed, but some trips may include optional snorkeling sessions to swim with sea lions in safe areas, always guided by our guides and under marine conservation rules.

The flight is not included in the price of the trip. It is important that you purchase your outbound flight before the start time of the trip, and after the end time of the trip.

The trip starts at 10.30am at the meeting point in La Paz. You must land no later than 9:50am on the first day. We will provide you with the exact meeting point once you have made your reservation.
On the last day we will be arriving in La Paz at 3:00pm. You must purchase your return flights from 4:30pm onwards.

Yes! At the time of payment, you will have the option to pay for your place in 2 installments (only if you buy more than 60 days in advance) or pay 100% in one payment. With less than 60 days in advance, you must pay 100%.

Yes! At the time of payment you will fill out a form to let us know any dietary restrictions you may have and during the trip our coordinator and cooks will provide a specific menu for you.
