Alpha Expeditions
Alpha Expeditions is the project created by Mexican explorers Alejandro "Alex" Garrido and Miguel "Mike" Barcena, both 25 years old, passionate about documenting wildlife and sharing authentic stories from the most remote places in the world. Trained in technical diving (Tec 50, Dive Master and Rescue) and Tourism Management, they have captured images underwater and in breathtaking natural landscapes, from the Sea of Cortez and the Bahamas to Galapagos, Svalbard, Africa and Asia. Their expeditions combine adventure, film and conservation, inspiring audiences through videos, podcasts and social media, while promoting the beauty and fragility of the planet with a message of environmental education and responsible action.
It's not a dream, you're swimming with marlins.
Every year, during the months of October and November, millions of sardines arrive off the coast of Baja California Sur in the Magdalena Bay area in search of food.
In turn, thousands of striped marlin, dorado, humpback whales, Bryde's whales, dolphins, sea lions and even sharks crowd around the sardine ball to enjoy the delicacy. It's a spectacle of the marine world! And in that setting, with all this feasting going on, you'll have the opportunity to snorkel to see all the action up close. All with a certified marine biologist accompanying you at all times to give you the experience of a lifetime.
Between sand dunes and the exquisite contrast of the mountains and the sea of Baja California Sur, this experience promises to leave an indelible mark in the traveler's memory.
