Itinerary
-
Day 1
We will meet in Mexicali, Baja California. Our transportation will pick us up and we will leave in the direction of La Salina. A few hours later we will be arriving at La Salina National Park and explore what looks like a snowfield that is actually huge amounts of salt. As we explore it, we will be immersed in a breathtaking environment, where the sun shining on the salt crystals creates a spectacle at sunset. In addition, you will learn about the history and process of salt production, as well as enjoy the tranquility and beauty that this amazing place has to offer. After sunset we will gather for dinner under the stars and end the day with a bonfire.
-
Day 2
We will wake up in La Salina where we will enjoy the sunrise and depart to our second camp: Las Dunas. After being in the huge salt field, we will see the imposing dunes of the most biodiverse desert in the world. We will visit the museum of the natural reserve to learn about the valuable environment in which we will find ourselves. Then we will start a unique walk through the dunes. If we are lucky, we will be able to see the sea from the highest dune. Here we will see the sunset and if we want, we can roll on the cold sand. Finally, we will close the day with a culinary experience at a typical Sonoran dinner.
-
Day 3
On our last day we will enter an area full of craters and cactus. We will leave the dunes and head to the Pinacate Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival at the Pinacate, we will begin our fascinating Crater Route. We will dive into the millenary crater "El Elegante", with its impressive 1600 meters in diameter and 250 meters deep, an experience that will transport you to a landscape similar to Mars. Finally, we will enjoy a last Sonoran lunch before heading back to the Mexicali airport, where we will conclude this unforgettable adventure.
